The voiceover accompanies the viewer on a journey illustrated with scenes from the action game Max Payne 3. Dead people are scattered in mostly deserted urban settings. Jon Rafman is interested in how human emotions and memories are influenced by the virtual realities surrounding us today. In the virtual world, we can go back and forth in time, making it possible to relive and process previous experiences and traumas. Virtual memories, or archives, provide other options to dig in the past and thereby give rise to new forms of collective and personal narratives.
