About the artworkWade Guyton’s media include digital paintings on canvas. His main tools are a computer and a large-format inkjet printer, which prints out the programmed colour codes. The machine creates a grid-like finish, where the action of the printhead appear. This forms a significant part of the painting’s overall expression. Traces of the printing process are left on the surface in the form of dripping ink, blurriness and input errors. The white fields are the primed canvas, sections left bare when the ink cartridge ran out. The canvas is folded and processed on both sides, before being smoothed out and mounted on a stretcher.
