About the artworkBridget Riley strives to create art for the eye, but does not exclude emotion. Therefore, the title is essential. It indicates a pastoral experience, but rather than depicting reality, Bridget Riley wanted to create a counterpart to nature. Her work is about optical effects, physics and perceptual psychology. Riley's work is regarded as kinetic art, sometimes also called op-art, a child of the 1960s.
