About the artworkSiri Derkert has portrayed Emilia Fogelklou (1878-1972) in several drawings, and most of them show her smiling and with her hair in the characteristic rolls. Derkert has described her as "fantastic, interesting, wise, sweet and witty".
Fogelklou was a theologian and author and close friend of the writer Elin Wägner. She was a regular guest lecturer in psychology an philosophy of life at the women's college in Fogelstad. She wrote essayes on the mechanisation of work and her thoughts on burnout are highly relevant even today.
