About the artworkLouise Bonnet’s monumental three-part work Pisser Triptych is similar to an altarpiece. Warped and bloated figures of flesh and blood, or maybe stone and clay, fill the desolate landscape in the picture. Milk-white and bright yellow fluids gush from their bodies. Bonnet explores how the body constantly undermines our struggle to be civilised and refined. No matter what we do to prevent it, we break, we get cramp, and we leak. Her imagery finds inspiration in both baroque opulence and dreamlike and absurd surrealist compositions.
