About the artworkWe are all going to die one day, no point pretending it isn’t so. Kristina Eriksson’s motifs are pared down to the bare essence. That which is about to vanish. Life. Traces of what has been removed in the process are visible in the many layers of paint. The colours are restrained to mainly nuances of white and grey. In Lena, a woman wearing a coat moves towards a hazy destination with her back to the viewer. She is carrying a box of wine. Her shoulders are pulled up due to her burden, her age, the cold or loneliness. Or perhaps all of the above.
