About the artworkA veritably encyclopaedic view of the era - work, everyday life, people, nature and archaeology! In Archaeologists and Log Drivers, X-et uses vibrant colours to relate a day by the Nämforsen rapids in the county of Ångermanland. The young academics are climbing the cliff banks, surrounded by the rushing water, as the log drivers balance skilfully throughout their heavy working day. Three years later, Ångermanland inaugurated its first hydraulic power station here. X-et’s painting is like a panorama where the past, the present and the future meet. And in the middle of it all, X-ets daughter Irma, a girl holding a doll. She stands calmly on the rock, gazing at all that is happening.
