About the artworkEva Löfdahl's style is often architectonic, her sculptures minimalist - but always with a disturbance of organic form, creating a tension between styles and an unexpected shift in the significance of familiar objects. This is true also of Untitled (1989), two brain-like sculptures of cauliflowers resting on a table on legs surrounded by rounded shapes, not unlike the inner tubes of old car tyres. The table is no longer a table, just a dividing plane. The boundary between sculpture and furniture is hazy. An over, an under, and a boundary line separating them. A tension between different meanings, side by side. A borderland.
